Since there is limited number of publicly available database for presentation attack detection of finger vein recognition, we have developed an infrared finger image database consists of genuine and spoof samples. Complete with the extracted ROI (region of interest), this database is made available on the web for the sake of assisting other researchers in the related fields to test and evaluate their algorithms based on standard benchmark database.
Our Database
The newly developed finger vein Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) database was collected using a proprietary finger vein recognition device. It includes data from 30 subjects, covering four fingers per subject (right/left index and middle), resulting in 120 unique finger vein instances. Each instance has six genuine samples, totaling 720 genuine images, captured in a single enrolment session.
Spoof images were generated using three methods:
1) Glossy photo paper (200 gsm) printed with a Canon Pixma inkjet printer,
2) High-quality paper (180 gsm) printed with a LaserJet printer, and
3) Digital display using a Realme X2 Pro smartphone screen.
Each spoof was created from one randomly selected genuine image per instance, with six spoof samples produced per material. This resulted in 720 spoof images per material, totaling 2,160 spoof images. All spoofed images successfully deceived the recognition system.
The final database contains 2,880 images (720 genuine + 2,160 spoof) and includes region of interest (ROI) extraction for all images.
